I had some time in my craft room the other day . . . oh craft room, how I have missed you!

I used my Sizzix die and Big Shot to make some rhinestone support ribbons.  Yellow for the troops, Pink for Breast Cancer awareness and Rainbow for a PRIDE event that The Buckle Boutique plans to attend.

I have the pink and yellow for sale.  Click HERE to go to the store.
Let me know if you would like a few of them.  Since they are all made from the rhinestone sticker sheets from The Buckle Boutique, the all have adhesive on the back so they are ready for you to stick them to any project you want.

Earlier this year I spoke here about my struggle with Essure and how many of the physical and emotional problems I have been seeing since 2008 could be attributed to the device.  Today I saw an update on the news about the FDA review of this product.  I truely hope that the FDA can do something about this issue.

I quit drinking over 10 years ago, so when I received a recent email from FaveCrafts.com entitled "40 projects to make with wine bottles" I forwarded the email to my sister and asked her if she would be willing to help me gather some "craft supplies" . . . aka empty wine bottles.  She was more than happy to assist.

Then, when I attended CHA this year, I was invited to the Prime Publishing Blogger Event.  Prime Publishing are the creators of a large variety of food and crafting websites, including FaveCrafts.com

As you walked into the room there were tables set up around the perimeter of the room, and at each table were representatives from different companies including

Clover
Cousin/Prima Bead
Fairfield
FloraCraft
I Love To Create
Little B
MD Hobby & Craft
Plaid
Simplicity
Sizzix
Spinrite
Stencil 1
Styrofoam Crafts

Then, when we arrived home we received a box with various product from these companies.  Now we have all kinds of new products to create with.  We were also told that if we created something with any of the products in the box we could then enter that project into the Best Blogger Craft 2015 contest.  At first I felt like my mind was a total BLANK . . . what am I going to create?  It needs to be something that inspires others, and creative, but it would be good if it was something that was trendy and current.

I have already entered one project into this contest . . . my Scrabble Art Reinvented project . . . click HERE to see that project post and tutorial.   Today I got the idea for another project using some of the supplies from this event, so now I might have two projects to enter.

Since a couple of the wine bottles my sister gave me have the lettering and label information printed right on the glass, I knew I was not going to be able to use these bottles for painted projects.

See what I mean?  I would have to do SO MANY LAYERS of paint to fully cover and hide the words.

 So on to plan B . . Bernat Mega Bulky yarn, rhinestone sticker sheets from The Buckle Boutique and embellishments from Little B.  {wow . . . I guess that really is Plan B . . . lots of companies with the letter B in the name}

First I used the rhinestone sticker sheets from The Buckle Boutique to cover the main portion of the bottle.  This fun animal print is from the new Tween Quad sheet.  The quad sheets have 4 different patterns on one sheet, so you can get more variety out of every sheet.  I love that these rhinestone are all on one large sheet with an adhesive back.  I just peeled part of the backing off and lined it up on the bottle . . .

then as I rolled the bottle and continued to peel off the backing the bottle basically covered itself in rhinestones.  Quick, easy and beautiful!  And since this is from the Tween Quad sheet, I still have 3 other patterns left in case I want to make this same project again in a different pattern.

Next I added some glue to the top of the bottle, and dripped a little down the back.  I did this so I could start the tail down the back and have it tucked under the yarn.

Once I wrapped the yarn around the top I let it sit for a little while.  I wanted to make sure that the yarn was secure at the top before I started to wrap it around the bottle.  In this photo you can see the little tail I left hanging down.  As I wrap the yarn around the bottle I will go right over that so that the end of the yarn is not exposed.

Then I applied more glue and just wound the yarn around the bottle, making sure not to leave any gaps between the rows.

After I was sure that the glue had dried under the yarn, I used the corrugated tape from Little B to cover the last parts of the bottle.  Just the the rhinestone sticker sheets, this tape has an adhesive back, so I just needed to cut off the right amount, peel off the backing and stick it on the bottle.

When I finished with the corrugated tape I felt like it still needed "something".  I used a few scraps of the rhinestone sticker sheets I had left over from another project along with butterfly stickers from Little B

I love how these dimensional butterfly stickers look like they are going to fly right off the bottle.  And look how great the colors go with the pattern in the rhinestone sticker sheet!  It is like all of these products were made to go together.

This colors are so bright and cheery . . . perfect for spring!  I am going to put this on the table in our front entry to brighten things up.

Thank you to Prime Publishing, FaveCrafts and all of the companies that attended the 2015 Blogger Event at CHA!  A special thank you to Bernat and Little B for sending me the products that I used today!

Be sure to watch for the voting to begin February 25th where you can vote on YOUR favorite project to win the Best Blogger Craft 2015!  I will post a link to the voting once it begins.

I just found out this week that two of the projects I made for my blog made it into a Best Blogger Contest.  There is a cash prize for the top three winners. Please help me win by going to this link

 http://www.favecrafts.com/contest/blogger-contest

and finding one of the two projects with my name on them. One is a rhinestone covered wine bottle

You can see the FULL tutorial for this project HERE

and the other is a fabric interpretation of Scrabble tile art (it has a close up photo and you will see a LARGE heart)

You can see the full tutorial for this project HERE.

A little green dot will show up next to the voting button once it has accepted your vote.

You can vote once from each device you have, so each computer, laptop, tablet and phone. If you have more than one device in your home please vote once from each. If you would like to also vote from work that would be great too. I would also love it if you share this with any of your friends you think would also help out and vote for my projects.

The images come up in a random order each time, so mine could be up at the top or way down at the bottom . . . I never know!

 Thanks!

Have you seen Eileen Hulls new dies with Sizzix?  For todays project I am using the NEW book die.

This is a photo of the project example that is on the packaging.  Now for MY VERSION!

Let me show you exactly how I made this.

I started out with a sheet of cardstock that had a denim patter on it, and a little faux stitching accent in the corner.  I picked this sheet specifically for the little accent in the corner since I thought it would look great on the cover of this book.

I cut out the front, back and binding using my Big Shot all from the same sheet of cardstock.  Then I used some light grey cardstock for the pages of the book.
Fold the pages in half and score them.
Feed thread/string or even ribbon through the holes on the pages.
Score the binding where it will fold for the front and back cover.
Attach the front and back cover to the binding with tape or glue.

Now you can see that I have all of the various parts ready to put the book together.  Now I just have to feed the thread hanging out of the pages through the holes on the binding and tie them off.

That is coming along nicely . . . but you know me . . . I need some bling!  I decided to use the pink zebra print rhinestone sticker sheets from The Buckle Boutique.  One sheet is 10"x 20" so you get a lot of bling for your buck!

These sheets can be cut with scissors, a craft knife or even DIE CUT!  They cut so great with the dies from Sizzix and the Big Shot.  I have a video of a past project HERE so you can see it with your own eyes.

I used my scissors to cut a small piece of the rhinestone sticker sheet and placed it over JUST the binding portion of the die.

LOOK at how well that cut!  It even got those TINY little holes!  And I still have enough rhinestones left on the sheet that I could make at least 8 more of these books . . . one sheet goes a LONG WAY!

I had to take another picture of how clean it cut through those little holes . . . even I could hardly believe it!

Okay, now lets put the bling binding on the book . . . wow, try and say that one 3 times fast!

I like how you can see in the above photo that the die actually cut the rounded corners on the binding.  Yes, you can cut curves THROUGH these rhinestones.

I applied my binding in segments so that I could get things to line up really nice.  I peeled off the backing from the sticker sheet on the first third of the binding and applied that to the book.  Oh, did I forget to mention, the rhinestone sticker sheets already have adhesive on the back.  Just cut and stick.

Now you can see that the binding is stuck to the book, and I have peeled off the backing for the next section to expose the adhesive backing.  (wow . . . bad photo . . . sorry)

After the binding was on, I did add a few extra little rhinestone dots that I cut from the clear rhinestone sticker sheet.  I thought that it added a nice little accent around the faux stitching and in the center of the flower.

We all know I LOVE my Disney characters.  And I also love my bling.  So when I can put those two things together it is perfect in my mind!

I wanted to make some embellishments to show off the Cheetah Print rhinestone sticker sheets from The Buckle Boutique.  These are from the Modern Surrealist collection, from Marisa Paweklo.  I thought that Minnie Mouse could use some Cheetah bling, so I started with cutting the head outline icon at 3" in height out of black cardstock.

Then I cut the shadow base of the bow icon out (seen in image below)  I used this shape since I just wanted to full outline of the bow, but not the inside accent cuts.

I cut the bow at 1 1/2" inches from the rhinestone sticker sheet.

Yes, you can cut these sticker sheets with your Cricut!  The reason why . . . they are not real/hard rhinestones.  They are a soft gel like "gem" that sparkles like real rhinestones.  You can cut them with a scissors, craft knife or your die cutting machines.  There are directions for cutting and tips for a variety of different machines on The Buckle Boutiques blog . . . just click HERE.

I peeled off the backing from just the lower half of the bow, and attached it to the mouse head icon.  This way when I go to use this embellishment for a project I can peel off the backing on the upper portion of the bow and use that to adhere it to the project.

This turned out so cute, I might make some out of other colors of rhinestone sticker sheets and then I have them ready to go when I need them for a Disney project!

If you like this pattern of rhinestone sticker sheets I have some BIG NEWS for you . . . it is on SALE!

Right now you can get the 10"x 20" sheet for just $10!  Several other patterns are on sale for rock bottom prices, and when they are gone they are GONE!  That is right . .  many of these patterns will not be coming back next year so this will be your last chance to get your hands on them!  Just click HERE!
