One thing that I am always amazed with from the Craft and Hobby Association Trade Show is the creative displays that some companies come up with.  Here are a few from the CHA show in 2016.

There are always a few dresses, usually NOT made out of fabric.  This dress was made with pop-tabs

Graphic 45 always has some gorgeous dresses made from their papers.

This dress was made of candy!

This one Incorporated several different elements.

This chandelier is made out of dies.

Now, this next photo is sort of a walking display.  Elena from the Charity Wings Art Center always has an incredible outfit that is accented by a beautiful set of wings.

I personally love to find a few things covered in bling!  Check out this cash register!

Any why not bling out a car.

I have a co-worker/friend that loves pigs about as much as I love Disney.    While I was at CHA when I saw a pig item in a display I would snap a photo for her.  When I started off, I thought there might be 2 or 3 . . . but as the group of photos grew I decided to just do one blog post with all of the pig crafty items I saw . . . so here it is!

When I can remember where the item was from, I am including links.  If you decide to follow any of these companies, let them know that you heard about them from my blog!

From Avery Elle there is the cute little pig shaker card, with little hearts that float behind the pig.

Check out these stamps and dies from Art Impressions.  There is a front and back to each image.  I could see making a card with this little piggy peeking through a window/shape on the card.

The next couple of images are from Doodle Your Day Away, which is based in Minnesota.  I was happy to find that there was another Minnesota person at CHA.  It seems like so many of the people I connect with live so far away.

The owner also owns The Eclectic Goat store in Northfield, MN

If yarn crafts are more your style, then check out The Pudgy Rabbit.  These boxed kits include everything you need to make these adorable little critters.

ClearSnap was showcasing some of their new colors of inks, but what caught my eye was this little pig card.

I have to admit, I cannot remember which booths I saw the rest of these cards in.  If I figure it out, I will update this blog post at a later date.

Welcome to the Disney Pixar Blog Hop!

Disney and crafting are a magical combination, and we are so happy you joined us to day for this blog hop.  Some of the crafters participating in this event have been doing this together since 2011!  Over the years the hop has grown but one thing has always stayed the same . . . amazing crafting projects that feature your favorite characters from Disney and Pixar movies.

For 2016 we are going to attempt to have a hop every other month for the entire year . . . February, April, June, August, October and December.  If you are on Facebook you can like the group page so that you can be the first to learn about each upcoming event.  Just click HERE to go the the Facebook page.

Since Valentines Day is just around the corner, I decided to make some cards with my Frozen Cricut Cartridge, Wild Card Cricut cartridge and Lawn Fawn stamps.

To get started, I cut two heart shaped cards from the Wild Card Cricut cartridge.  I cut one from a burgundy paper that has a shimmer finish, and the other from a teal cardstock with a flat finish.

Next I prepared to cut Olaf from the Frozen Cricut cartridge.  To save some time, I placed white, blue and orange carstock onto my mat and loaded it into my Cricut.  This way I could just move the blade to the upper right corner of the color I needed to cut and I did not have to unload the mat for cutting each color.

Also, I used a white dry erase board paper from DCWV for the white of Olaf.  This gave the entire cut a little bit of a glossy look.

Since I knew I was making two cards, I cut all layers twice to speed up the assembly process.  I did have a slight problem with the white on the Olaf on right.  Can you see the small tear where Olafs leg attaches to his body on the image on the right?

It tore as I was taking the paper off the mat.  No worries . . . . lets just call this an opportunity for embellishment and I will show you how I fix it later on in this post.

This next picture was supposed to show how I start to piece the layers of the cuts together, but I also wanted to include it because I thought it was funny and Olaf kind of has a "Nightmare Before Christmas" look to him at this point.

Once I had some of the large white areas glued onto the black background piece, I added the blue for the inside of Olafs mouth.  I wanted to add that first since I figured it would be easier to place the white cut for his tooth and space it nicely inside of the blue background.

Here is how Olaf looks after I have placed all of the different layers of cardstock on to the black background.

I wanted to add some cute phrases, but I dont like my own handwriting so I wanted to use stamps for the sentiments.  Lawn Fawn has a stamp set called Heres The Scoop that had some perfect phrases.

For both cards, I cut two hearts, one from patterned cardstock and one from solid colored cardstock, to layer behind the Olaf cut.  I also added some dots of Viva Decor and stamped some small hearts for accents around the outside edge.

Remember the tear by Olafs leg in one of my cuts?  Let me show you how I covered that up.

I used Viva Decor and just "smudged" it over the tear and up the side of the cut.  Then I added it to the other leg and around the arm also.  This makes the smudges of Viva look intentional and not like I am trying to hide something.

I cut a banner shape from another Lawn Fawn set and stamped the phrases "you are so cool" and "you melt my heart" on them.  I thought these were perfect for an Olaf card.

I hope you enjoyed my Olaf heart shaped cards!  Now you can hop over to the other blogs to see what they have created.

Before you go, make sure to enter to win our prize for this hop . . . a Disney paper pack from Queen & Co.

The paper stack will not even be shipping out to stores until late February 2016, so you can have it before the stores are even selling it!  Note: Due to the fact that we received this paper stack so early, it is considered a promotional proof and there could be some slight variations from what will be shipped to stores.

I thought that these cards were the CUTEST IDEA!  Each one comes with a scratch off sticker that you apply over the top of part of the sentiment, and then you add a coin and the person you give the card to gets to scratch off the card to see the sentiment . . . which is usually a punch line to a riddle or joke.

I even got to make one in a Make and Take

Happy New Year!

I cannot believe that 2016 is here!  What a year it has been.  I was just talking the other day about how one year ago at this time I was in so much pain due to medical issues.  I was taking pain medication just to get through the day, and I was not able to fully enjoy the Craft and Hobby Association Conference and Trade Show in January 2015.  It is hard to enjoy anything when you are in pain 24/7.

And now it is just days away from me leaving for CHA 2016!!!!

Trust me, I plan to take in as much as I can while I am there this year!  I also hope to post photos and videos of what I see on a daily basis.  Are there any companies or products you want me to check out?  I do like to look at the new products area to see what is up and coming for the year.

One sad note about this years show is that it is the last one that is scheduled for Anaheim, California location.  Next year the show will be held in Phoenix, Arizona.

Also, as we kick of 2016 I wanted to share my crafting resolution with you.  As many of you know I have been organizing Disney Pixar Blog Hops for several years now.  The very first one was in 2011, and it has continued to grow over the years.  Now there is even a Facebook Page just for the fans of these hops, so that they can be the first to know when the next one is schedule and prepare for the Disney crafting magic!

For 2016 it is my goal to have a Disney Pixar Blog Hop every other month for the entire year!  The fist hop will be February 6th, 2016.  If you are on Facebook you can click HERE to go to the event page.  This will make a reminder for you.

My other crafting goal for 2016 is to get our website MyCutSearch.com 100% current with all of the images available on physical Cricut cartridges.  I have to admit, I got a little behind in updating the site.  In 2014 we were selling our house and that consumed a large portion of the year . . . getting rid of stuff we did not want, packing, selling the house, Mother Nature dropping a huge rain storm on us that flooded the basement, cleaning that up, the buyer of our house backing out due to the flooding, having a sump pump and drain tile installed in the basement, replacing the drywall and carpet in the basement, selling the house AGAIN and moving.  By the time all of that was over it was almost 2015 and it was in January of 2015 that my medical issues turned everything upside down . . . and then the surgery and recovery time.

So now I want to get the site current again so that all of you can use it to search for your favorite images on Cricut cartridges.

MyCutSearch.com website //   MyCutSearch.com Facebook page

So it looks like I have my crafting to do list ready.  What is yours?

I was first introduced to MISTI at the Bella Crafts Connection event at the Mall of America.  There were several crafters in a class I signed up for that were using it.  MISTI stands for Most Incredible Stamp Tool Invented.

They were a part of the Hot New Products at CHA 2016

This tool makes lining up your stamped images a breeze.  If you need to re-stamp an image because the first pass did not turn out very clear, it will keep everything perfectly lined up!

You can check out MISTI at the My Sweet Petuia site.  Follow them on Facebook also.  Tell them Shawn sent you!

If you want to place your order now, Terri Olsen from Stamps Alive is currently taking pre-orders! Click HERE to place your order now.  Tell her Shawn Mosch sent you.
