How can I make money as an individual from affiliate marketing

To start as an affiliate you must have links or banners from the merchants or advertisers. These links can be gotten in any of the following ways

i.                    From the advertisers directly

This method is direct. You as an affiliate will have to search for companies offering affiliate programs, contact them  and get your link without passing through any other person. Hostgator  and karatbars  are examples of affiliate programs which  provides links and banners to publishers directly. Thousands  of websites offers links directly to affiliates, however, Affiliate marketers must do  research before contacting companies as there are hundreds of scam websites that will not reward you . I can remember the traffic I sent to Megatoon and Global share just to earn zero. This can be done by reading reviews about the company.

ii.                  Through Affiliate network websites

To prevent affiliates from missing out their commissions form fraudulent companies, The fourth party has to come into the affiliate marketing see know as an affiliate network. You might have read this in some sentences above. An affiliate networkacts as an intermediary between publishers (affiliates) and merchant affiliate programs.

Here are some 5 affiliate networks where you can fine thousands of credible companies offering affiliate programs.

1.       Amazon affiliate program(affiliate-program.amazon.com)  offered by amazon.com a leading e-commerce and cloud computing company in USA.

2.       Avangate (avangate.com), an affiliate network specialized in softwares.

3.       Commision junction (cj.com) affiliate network.

Commission junction an online advertising and internet marketing company that specializes in affiliate, media and tracking services. This is one of the most popular affiliate networks in the world.

4.       Ad media (admedia.com)  Affiliate network brought to you by Ad Media a company which offers online advertising services to advertisers.

5.       The fifth is Click Bank (clickbank.com) affiliate programs offering a variety of products to affiliates.

There are other big names like eBay and others I have left out. Just do your research and chose the right ones. Even though I want the best for you, what might be best for me might not be the best to you.

To be on a safe side, if you are a newbie who wants to earn money from affiliate marketing then, you should consider joining a An affiliate network as a publisher. After understanding the whole show, you can now contact companies directly (taking a greater risk)

Things needed to start an affiliate Business

Now that you have you know how to have your affiliate links, banners and other promotional tools, how will make use of them? :

     A Blog/Website

Many starters always feel bad whenever I tell them to get a blog for their  business. A website is just like a shop where you store and market you goods. It is very important for you to have a website. On this website you can paste banners, write post related to the product to improve SEO (avoid black hat SEO), write reviews among others. You can also show case your own personal services on your website while benefiting form you affiliate program.  With a website you will be able to manage you HTML codes with ease thus increasing your chances of making money.

What if I don’t have money to start a website?

Try free hosting services like wordpress.com,wix.com  among others. While doing this consider getting your own personal website. Free things have a lot of limitations. If you don’t have the knowledge or seem scared to manipulate the codes/menus, then consider getting the services of a blogger. About 50-100 dollars can get you something nice. The higher the price the better the website. Avoid screaming when a designer gives you a higher price that you expected. Some affiliate networks give you a free website where you can manage your products .

You can send emails or articles weekly.  Also make sure that you include links to your landing pages where in your articles.

ii.                  Use of Forums

This is a great way to promote your products. Make sure you don’t just join a forum because you want to promote your product or service. It is in your part of your plan. The first thing you should do is to ensure that you are an active member, responds to topics as well as create interesting discussions. This is the only mean by which you can achieve you ‘’Plan B’’. At this juncture you are free to include links in your discussions or responses. Also ensure you don’t spam. Note that you can also comment on blogs as a way to drive traffic to your affiliate page.

iii.                Make Videos

Sites like vmeo, YouTube,metacafe,veoh,flickr, photobucket among others are great places to share your videos. Just make as short video of about 3-7 minutes with your link (shortened) as the first comment under the video. If you have a URL that can easily be recopied, include it at the end of your video.

Bling Blog Hop

If you love projects that sparkle, then you are in for a treat!  Today we have a line up of some amazing crafters who will be showing you a variety of project ideas that you can create with The Modern Surrealist Line of Rhinestone Sticker Sheets!

Just like the Classic Color line, these rhinestone sticker sheets can be cut with scissors, a craft knife and a variety of die cutting machines!  This means you can cut these beautiful colors and patterns into any shape you want to create custom embellishments for your projects!

We launched this new line at CHA 2015, and we had so much fun and were so happy to hear the positive feedback from everyone!

I had so much fun making this banner to show off the new bright neon colors.

We had a make and take with Marisa, and there is a video of that at The Buckle Boutiques blog today.  If you have not seen it, use the link below to go back to the beginning of this hop so that you can see ALL of the projects!

Some of the people who were at the make and take got creative, and instead of creating a cuff bracelet they embellished their cell phones.  This one uses one of the images from the Sugar Skulls pattern. 

I had to get into the act too by adding some bling to my sandals.  This was so easy to do.  I just cut 4 strips of rhinestones the same width as the strap of my sandal from the Graffiti print sheet and peeled off the backing.  Then I lined it up with the strap and pressed it in place.   I had these sandals embellished in a matter of minutes!

A lot of people did not believe me that this was from the Graffiti print sheet, since once it was cut down into strips it reads more like a fun, colorful pattern rather than Graffiti.  Here is a close up.

The other great thing . . . because of ALL of the colors in this pattern, these shoes matched every shirt I had brought with to wear on the trip!  

Another project I created used the colorful animal print from the Tween Quad sheet.  This sheet has 4 fabulous patterns in one sheet . . . more bling for your buck!

This was SO EASY to make, and it was a great way to use an empty wine bottle for a crafting project.  The full project tutorial can be found HERE.  And since this only used one pattern from the Tween Quad sheet, I could make 3 more with the other patterns to give as gifts.

What about card making?  Yep, these rhinestone sticker sheets are great for that too!  In a matter of minutes, I was able to create this shaped card with a rhinestone number 5 on it, for my nephews 5th birthday.  This is made from the paint splatter pattern, which is another pattern on the Tween Quad sheet.  For the full project tutorial, just click HERE.

Besides the beautiful colors, I think the thing I like the most about these rhinestone sticker sheets is the fact that I can quickly and easily create shaped embellishments.  With traditional rhinestones I would need to line up all of those loose stones, glue them down one by one . . . that would take forever!  Since these come in one full sheet that you can cut with scissors, a craft knife or a die cutting machine, you can create these amazing shapes in a no time!

CHA I am HERE!

I am here!

My daughter would be happy to see that Donalds smiling face was in the hotel lobby to greet me.

I went and picked up my badge and the CHA directory 

and I have my journal with the cover that I made at the Bella Crafts Connections event to take notes while at the show.

I created this in a class taught by Lorine Mason.  She will be here at CHA doing demos.  I cannot wait to see her and what she is creating now.


Then I had some time to kill, so I went for a walk.  Look . . . the happiest place on earth is right across the street from the Convention Center!

This next picture was just because I thought it was funny to see a hotel with the name Alpine in it, that had a snow theme to the exterior decor . . . with palm trees right next to it.

All that is left for today is to relax, look over the Show Floor map and figure out where we want to start tomorrow.  I think the best part is that I know I get to sleep in tomorrow, relax with friends and just enjoy breakfast before the show instead of grabbing a granola bar and racing over to the show floor as soon as the doors open to put any finishing touches on a booth display.

Dont get me wrong, I loved working in the booth with The Buckle Boutique.  Selling things that sparkle is a perfect fit for me.  I also loved that it allowed me to meet and network with so many people.  I know that this year will be different, but I hope to see CHA in a whole new way . . . from the eyes of someone attending the show, not the eyes of someone working the show.

I hope to continue to post, but if you dont see or hear anything from me just know that it is either because the wireless connection at the hotel is not working or that I am having so much fun there is not time to blog!

not going to lie I am sore

So, I have started going back into the office this week.  I am going in for half days.  That way if I am sore or tired I can come home and rest and then finish up my hours for the remainder of the day at home.  I am not going to lie . . . I am sore.

I have been doing a LOT more walking this week, and when I am sitting at my desk I am sitting upright instead of the reclined position I am in on the couch.  While this might not sound like that big of a deal, it puts more pressure on two of the incisions . . . the one in the belly button and the one below that in more of the pelvic area.

Think about if you have a cut on your thumb, and then you do a lot of stuff with your hand, and that cut starts to "throb" a little . . . well, that is what standing and sitting do to my belly button.

I have learned to know when enough is enough.  I left work at Noon today.  Now I am on the couch, reclined, with an ice pack on my tummy.  This feels so much better.  After I finish this post, I am going to take a little nap.  Then while Jeff is making dinner I can get a little more work in for the day.  Yes, it makes for a LONG day since I start work around 7:30am, and I have to jump on the computer and do more work after dinner . . . but it is so much better to do things in just little chunks of time until my body is stronger.
